Agri-Lime

Quality certified and graded ground limestone for Agricultural soil conditioning

>Increases soil fertility        >Maintains soil pH levels        >Improves fertilizer efficiency        >Reduces fertilizer wastage         >Can be applied all year round

Get better results from your land and improve fertilizer efficiency by applying Harrington’s Agri-Lime to your crops and grassland. Our Agri-Lime ground limestone acts as an effective soil conditioner, and corrects soil acidity to improve the availability of Nitrogen, Phosphorous, Potassium, Sulphur, Calcium, Magnesium and trace elements.

Soils naturally become acidic over time as a result of fertilizer, manure, leaching and crop off-take which leads to nutrient loss. To correct this imbalance, lime must be added to neutralize the acidity to the desired pH for optimum fertility. Harrington’s Agri-Lime has a TNV (Total Neutralisation Value) of 99%.

Agri-Lime can be spread at any time of the year, and it is recommended to lime soil at least every 3 to 5 years. Agri-Lime should be spread evenly and left near the surface of the soil, and grassland can be grazed as soon as the lime has been washed off the leaves by rain.

Smaller and more frequent applications of lime are better than a single larger application in maintaining the optimum soil pH range of between 6.2 and 7.2.

This level provides Nitrogen recycling, reduces total Nitrogen requirements, and maximizes the return from each bag of N, P & K fertilizer used.

Our Agri-Lime is tested and certified by the Department of Agriculture, and quality control is maintained by our in-house laboratory based at our head office in Kilkelly, County Mayo.

Harrington’s Agri-Lime is locally quarried from a rich limestone deposit with a naturally high calcium content. The limestone rock is then crushed and graded to fine particles and dust, and held in dry storage until final delivery.
Harrington Concrete & Quarries can deliver Agri-lime throughout the Connaught region and also provide spreading services if required.
