Harrington Civil Engineering have an exciting opportunity to join our growing company and we are now hiring for a Site Engineer to join our team.  You will be flexible, both in terms of working environment and site location.

Key objective:

Site Engineer required for civil engineering construction contracts. Ideally, the candidate should have 2-5 years relevant experience on Civils/Drainage/Roads/Earthworks projects. The candidate should have experience in setting out, using GPS Systems, Total Stations, and be proficient with the use of AutoCAD software.

Principal Duties

  • Ensure Compliance with current Irish Health & Safety Regulations and with company health & safety policy on site.
  • Oversee quality control onsite for all aspects of the works
  • Assist in the supervision and monitoring all aspects of the works on site on a daily basis.
  • Setting out all elements of works
  • Maintaining daily site records and testing records.
  • Assist in the updating the works programme
  • Supervising sub-contractors works on site.
  • Liaising with clients and their representatives, including attending regular progress update meetings
  • Effectively and efficiently organising site facilities in order to meet agreed deadlines
  • Resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise.

 

Skills/Experience

  • Relevant experience in pipeline, earthworks and roads
  • Have at least 2 years post graduate relevant experience on site.
  • Proven track record as a Setting Out Engineer on road engineering projects within the last 12 months.
  • Proficient in use of setting out equipment – GPS, Total Station, Dumpy levels
  • Experience working with AutoCAD
  • Able to communicate and be fluent in English (Written and Spoken)
  • Must be able to work on own initiative and part of a team.
  • Excellent Technical & analytical skills, good problem solver

 

Skills/Qualifications

  • Minimum NFQ Level 8 Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Have a good knowledge of and awareness of current Health and Safety Regulations
  • Certification in Traffic Management and Underground services would be an advantage
  • Proficient in Microsoft packages
  • Full Drivers License

Harrington Group have an exciting opportunity to join our growing company, based in our Kilkelly HQ, and are now recruiting for a Stores Assistant.

As a Stores Assistant you will be responsible for the day to day Stores duties in our Kilkelly HQ. You will be flexible, both in terms of working environment and site location.

General overview of duties: 

  • Ensure prompt counter service in stores and garage hatch. 
  • Answering the phone and dealing with queries.
  • Receive, process, and organise deliveries for storage or distribute in an efficient manner to the relevant departments.
  • Unload deliveries, sign and check goods inwards and cross reference against purchase order. Inform manager of any discrepancies.
  • Carry out regular stock takes to ensure the store is fully stocked with the necessary supplies/consumables in relevant locations.
  • Liaise with management and staff to ensure the availability of products in a timely manner. 
  • Maintain the highest level of visual merchandising and store conditions.
  • Raising purchase orders as required for general orders.
  • Parcel up returns and outwards goods for collection services.
  • Ensure a good knowledge of computer systems
  • Flexibility is key to this role to ensure cover is provided for leave purposes.

Harrington’s Concrete & Quarries ULC have an exciting opportunity to join our growing company, based in our Head Office, Kilkelly, and are now recruiting for a HGV Mechanic professional to join our team. You will be flexible, both in terms of working environment and site location.

Key Objective:

Qualified mechanic with the ability to service all types of vehicles (Artic and Rigid Trucks, Vans, Company Cars, etc) who takes pride in their work and levels of service to ensure that the company is able to carry out its day to day business in a safe and efficient manner. 

  Principal Duties

  • Service all vehicles to maximise efficiency of the fleet.
  • Fault finding and preventative maintenance.
  • Coordination of service and repairs
  • Understand the job system with the ability to work on different vehicles at any given time.
  • Good time management and delivering ongoing status reports as and when required. 
  • Adhere to workshop systems.
  • Manage the area of the workshop in a safe and cost-effective manner.
  • Ability to meet deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Understand the importance of efficiency and productivity.

 

Knowledge / Experience 

  • Fully qualified HGV mechanic or in the third or fourth year of a recognized apprenticeship.
  • Have strong diagnostic experience and general computer literacy.
  • Full clean drivers license (class c)
  • Must be able to work with and as part of a team
  • Able to communicate and be fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Ability to work on own initiative or with a team and to strict deadlines
  • Knowledge of CVRT
  • Diagnostics – 1 year

Harrington’s Concrete & Quarries ULC have an exciting opportunity to join our growing company, based in our Head Office, Kilkelly, and are now recruiting for a Construction Plant Fitter to join our team.  You will be flexible, both in terms of working environment and site location.

The successful candidate will have full responsibility of routine maintenance and servicing of plant equipment and machinery in an efficient and safety driven manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Routine maintenance and servicing of plant equipment and machinery
  • Development and implementation of plant wide preventative maintenance programme.
  • Diagnosing Breakdowns.
  • Liaising with external contractors to schedule work on site and ensuring that all such work is fully approved in advance and completed to the required standards.
  • Scheduling periodic testing of safety equipment and maintaining records of same.
  • Recycling/Re-using parts/materials, where possible.
  • Demonstrate a lead by example approach to all aspects of Health & Safety, be fully compliant with Company Health & Safety: policies, procedures, systems and rules, report all hazards and incidents and ensure that you work safely at all times.

 

Essential Experience:

  • The successful candidate should have a proven background within the heavy plant industry with a minimum of 3 years post apprenticeship experience.
  • Broad knowledge of Construction equipment

 

Essential qualifications:

Minimum level 6 qualification in Construction Plant/HGV
